Actress Saheefa Khattak opens up about her mental health challenges

ISLAMABAD: Renowned Pakistani model and actress Saheefa Jabbar Khattak opened up about her ongoing struggle with mental health, shedding light on her battles with depression despite her prominence in popular Pakistani dramas.

In a candid display of vulnerability, Saheefa discussed the harsh realities she faces amidst her mental health challenges.

Despite her advocacy for mental health awareness, she highlighted the world’s unkindness, emphasizing the crucial need for empathy and compassion.

Courageously, she shared a distressing moment when she confided in a friend about feeling suicidal after consuming 13 pills. It was her friend’s intervention that prevented a potential tragedy.

In an emotional recounting, tears streamed down Saheefa’s face as she expressed her despair, admitting, “It’s terrifying and agonizing. I hoped things would improve when Khizer came, but nothing changed.”

Acknowledging the societal stigma, she reflected on the criticism individuals encounter when openly discussing mental health struggles.

Saheefa recognized the challenge of sharing such intimate experiences on a public platform, knowing that addressing mental health can often be seen as a display of vulnerability.

Nevertheless, she stressed the urgency of shattering the silence around mental health issues, especially in a world she described as “disturbing and traumatizing.”

Support poured in from fans and well-wishers on social media, urging Saheefa to stay resilient during this difficult time.

Many expressed their unwavering support and love for the talented actress, underscoring the significance of empathy and understanding for those grappling with mental health challenges.
